Grounds for Recycling – 1 week to go!

St. Enoch Centre is part of Grounds for Recycling, an innovative hospitality and tourism led campaign designed to help tackle the industry’s food waste. The campaign will be taking place throughout Glasgow this summer (25 July – 13 August) and will coincide with the cycling calendar’s biggest event – the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships.
With coffee and cycling going hand-in-hand, this campaign will see over 10 of the Centre’s coffee shops join forces to turn coffee waste into something better for the planet.
Partnering with an e-cargo bike food waste and delivery service, spent coffee grounds from participating venues will be collected and delivered to Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens. From there, they will be turned into compost to build ecosystems that capture carbon, rehabilitate soil, and support wildlife and biodiversity.
