2026 is Glasgow’s year

Time Out has named Glasgow one of the greatest places to visit in Europe in 2026.

The city has also been named one of the world’s top trending destinations in Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best 2026 awards, ranking No. 7 globally.

This recognition places Glasgow among the top one percent of destinations worldwide, based on millions of traveller reviews and ratings. It highlights the city’s growing global appeal as a destination celebrated for its creativity, culture and warm welcome.

Tripadvisor praised Glasgow for its “bold contemporary culture, vibrant dining scene and status as the UK’s first UNESCO City of Music.” The city was also commended for its connection to Scotland’s dramatic landscapes, with easy access to the Highlands and islands.

Glasgow also secured a Top 5 position among UK destinations, reaffirming its place as one of Britain’s most popular and highly rated cities for visitors.
