St. Enoch Centre’s Sustainability Strategy

St. Enoch Centre is committed to taking action to combat climate change and reduce our environmental footprint. We have a robust sustainability strategy in place and are always looking for ways to inspire others to consider their environmental impact.

Take a look at some of our green achievements below…

  • In 2023, St. Enoch Centre was awarded its third Green Apple Award for continuous improvements in waste management.
  • We introduced a ‘Green Travel Plan’ to encourage shoppers to use environmentally friendly transport options when visiting the centre.
  • Last year St. Enoch Centre took part in the ‘Grounds for Recycling Scheme’, a city-wide initiative which saw the Centre’s coffee grounds being turned into compost.

Take Action now!

So, what can you do to make a difference today?

Celebrate Earth Day 2024 by taking simple steps to reduce your carbon footprint. We’ve shared some of our favourite ways below:

  • Cycle or walk to the shops, rather than taking the car.
  • Litter pick – pick up any stray litter you come across and dispose of it correctly in the recycling bin.
  • Veg out – Go meat-free for at least one day a week! Commit to cutting meat out of your diet on a more regular basis too.
  • Turn off all technology for an hour – or longer if you dare!
  • On the food shop? Only buy items with recyclable packaging or organically sourced.
  • Drink tap water rather than bottled or canned.
  • Put on a jumper instead of turning on the heating.

Let us know how you get on.
