Purple Tuesday 7th November
St. Enoch Centre will be taking part in Purple Tuesday on the7th of November for the 6th year running. Purple Tuesday is an international call to action focused on improving the customer experience for disabled people. It’s an awareness driving day of action for an issue that is relevant 365 days a year.
What is Purple Tuesday?
#PurpleTuesday is about creating a step change improvement in the awareness of the value and needs of disabled customers. It calls on organisations of all sizes from all sectors to get involved in, with the common goal of improving the customer experience for disabled people 365 days a year. It is about making the customer experience accessible.
Purple Tuesday is part of Purple’s vision for organisations to see disability as an opportunity – both in terms of existing and potential employees and customers – and to be part of addressing the inequality that exists for disabled people through increasing the accessibility of everything they do.

- Support dogs have their own water station within the centre
- St. Enoch Centre staff have undergone training from a number of disability charities including Scottish Autism & Dementia Friends
- An online accessibility guide allows shoppers to plan their visit in advance
- Our Quiet and Safe space was the first of its kind in a UK shopping centre and is intended to be used by people with learning and sensory difficulties when presented with challenges out and about in the city centre
- Sensory maps are available in our Quiet & Safe space
- Regular quiet sessions take place both throughout the centre and within selected stores
- The centre is proud to have one of the city centre’s Changing Places facilities, as well as a number of accessible bathrooms located throughout the malls
- A portable hearing loop can be located on the 2nd floor at Security
- Disabled parking bays are available on every level of the car park
