If there is one occasion of the year to go all out it’s the Oscars, these three actresses did just that. Heavy embellishment and plunging necklines create a dramatic red carpet look every time. Mad Max actress Charlize Theron stole the show in this vibrant red Dior dress.

These three red carpet regulars kept it simple in the paired back gowns. Lace was an Oscar favourite this year and former Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence and Rooney Mara were right on trend.

Of course with the good comes the bad. Unfortunately for Heidi Klum, Kate Winslet and Kerry Washington they fall under the later. Unflattering draping and heavy contrasting leather make these the biggest mishaps of the red carpet last night.
